The Round Manaslu Trek and Tsum Valley Trek, collectively known as the Hidden Valley Trek in Nepal, unveil a mesmerizing journey through the rugged trans-Himalayan region of Gorkha. Beginning in 1992 for Manaslu and later accessible in 2008 for Tsum Valley, this trek seamlessly blends adventure with cultural immersion. Nestled amidst towering peaks and lush valleys, this area is celebrated for its vibrant cultural tapestry, awe-inspiring landscapes, and unparalleled biodiversity.

The trek unfolds along the meandering path of the Gandaki River valley, where cascading waterfalls and crystal-clear pools offer respite to weary travelers. As the journey progresses, the trail gradually steepens, and the presence of yaks becomes more pronounced against the dramatic backdrop of the Baudha Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Sringi Himal ranges. Tsum Valley, once a restricted area, now welcomes trekkers with its ancient monasteries, where the echoes of Buddhist legends, including those of the renowned Milarepa, resonate through the mountain caves.

In the high-altitude enclave of Samagoan, travelers are greeted by the glacial allure of Birendra Lake before delving into the mystical ambiance of Samdo, a stone’s throw away from the Tibetan border. Here, sacred monastic complexes inhabited by Tibetan monks adorn the landscape, offering panoramic vistas of the Tibetan plateau juxtaposed against the majestic Himalayan peaks. The ultimate test awaits as trekkers traverse the formidable Larkya La pass, enveloped by towering snow-capped summits exceeding 6500 meters, before descending through a spectrum of landscapes, from snow-draped slopes to verdant alpine forests and finally to tropical terrains adorned with azure lakes and emerald foliage. The journey culminates in Besisahar, where the grandeur of the Manaslu range slowly fades from view, leaving behind an indelible impression of reverence for the resilience of the Nepalese people and the ecological marvels of this extraordinary region.
